Introduction

My name is Ebony O'Neal. I was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. Before moving on campus, I lived on the north side with my parents, younger brother and dog. I have an older brother also who resides in Atlanta, GA.
In my free time I love to listen to music & draw. Also, I love anything involving hair. Doing hair has always been a passion of mine. If I had one wish, I would wish for one million dollar$.. but not for myself. I would use it to help people in financial need and to help lower and middle class families pay for school.
I'm intending to major in Education - Social Studies. I'm really into helping youth exceed and reach their dreams, therefore I want to teach at a high school level. The best class I've ever taken was my American History class my junior year at Rufus King. I liked this class because our teacher made learning fun. Sometimes we were having such a good time we didn't even know we were learning.
I've always been one to have a way with words. I love writing because it's a great way to express your feelings and to get a point across. During high school, I mainly did persuasive writing. I enjoy reading pieces that some way I can relate to because it makes it more interesting.
My biggest fears about college-level writing is that I have a hard time expanding and going into depth about what I'm writing about. I get straight to the point without using details. My goals for this class is to become the best writer I can be and to learn all I can learn to improve my writing skills.

What are your favorite things to do in Milwaukee? Things that someone who just moved here wouldn’t know about? What kind of music do you like? Do you plan on taking an art class here?

I love that you think back to your teachers as motivation to teach. That’s why I’m here too.

Hopefully the type of writing that we will do for this class will help you learn to elaborate, slow down, and explain more. It’s a slightly personal kind of writing, so that might be a good way to approach your concern.
